I Am Where I Was, explores the conflicted feelings that arise when reminiscing. Nostalgia for the past coupled with the frustration of stagnation, appreciation juxtaposed with resentment, desire to hold on in contrast with the desire to move forward. The piece is an illustration of the understanding that comes from acknowledging the formative nature of one’s past while impatiently desiring to be aware of the progress that continually exists in the present.
